Michael is accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a family law specialist and is also a trained mediator, arbitrator and collaborative lawyer.  Michael regularly acts as a mediator in family law disputes.

Michael is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and a former executive member of the Family Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria. Michael is a founding member of Relationships Australia expert lawyers' panel. In Doyle's Guide for 2017, Michael is ranked as one of Melbourne's leading family and divorce lawyers.
