Overview
After graduating from Macquarie University in 1986 with degrees in Arts and Law, Damien commenced his legal career working in the Local Courts Administration which provided him with invaluable insights into Court processes and procedures, and opportunity to work directly with Magistrates hearing cases in Court.
Since he commenced work in private practice as a Solicitor in 1987, Damien has worked extensively in the Criminal Justice System and in the Family Law System since that time. Although he has a wide ranging experience in matters of Commercial Law, Wills, Estates, Civil Litigation and Equity, his preferred practice areas are Criminal Law and Family Law.
In the Criminal Law arena, Damien has had significant experience as a Court Room Advocate across the entire spectrum of matters from assaults and personal violence proceedings, drug proceedings, dishonesty proceedings, firearm issues, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and general traffic matters. He had the privilege of receiving tutelage from Police Prosecutors, one of whom in fact instructed other Prosecutors for the NSW Police.
Damien has an extensive network of Barristers and other experts he can call upon for more complicated cases. He did some work for the Roads and Maritime Services Authority as a Prosecutor himself and accordingly has a firm grasp of traffic law, practice and procedure.
