Franchising is a form of distribution in which the franchisor gives the franchisee certain know-how and grants him various rights of use to trademarks, industrial property rights and copyrights so that the franchisee can use the goods, services and / or technologies concerned of the franchise concept. For this, the franchisee usually has to pay a one-off and / or ongoing franchise fee.

Many franchisees do not know that due to their particularly close and permanent integration into a franchise system, they are also entitled to special protective rights developed by case law.
